Roy Schleicher has more than 48 years of experience in the maritime industry. He was appointed Executive Vice President for the Jacksonville Port Authority in 2011 after leading the port’s international cargo marketing efforts through more than a decade of volume and revenue growth. That progress has continued under his direction, with JAXPORT recording consistent growth in cargo, customers and revenue. Along with leading the port’s business development initiatives, Schleicher is also involved in every facet of the port’s operation, terminal expansion and strategic planning.
During Schleicher’s tenure, total annual port revenue has doubled. In addition, JAXPORT has solidified its place as one of the nation’s business vehicle handling ports in the nation, become a major player in the Asian container trade as well as Florida’s No. 1 container complex.
Prior to joining JAXPORT, Schleicher was the Director of Marketing for the Maryland Port Administration. During his more than four decades in the maritime industry, he has held various management positions of increasing responsibility for major ocean carriers, terminal operators and logistics companies.
