About Robert Hooper Jr.

Robert Hooper Jr. grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and attended the University of Florida from 1986 through 1991, earning degrees in History and Economics. He married Katherine Cobb, his college sweetheart, in 1990. They both attended graduate school at Indiana University (Bloomington) where Rob earned a Ph.D. in Economics in 1999. While in Bloomington, he also worked as a college pastor for several years. In 2003, the Hoopers returned to Jacksonville so Rob could help run Atlantic Logistics Inc., a transportation logistics company started by his parents, Evie and Bob Hooper. He learned all aspects of the business and took over daily operations after his father was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2008.

Rob’s mother (owner and President) and sister are actively involved in the business. Atlantic Logistics now has 20 employees and annual gross revenue of $15.3 million.

The Hoopers have five children; the two oldest are currently attending the University of Florida. Rob is a ruling elder in his church and is on the board of 6:8 Ministries. He enjoys boating, Gator football games, and Native Sons & Daughters with his youngest two girls.
