- Blount Island Vehicle Berth Upgrades
More than $60 million in vehicle berth upgrades are positioning JAXPORT to accommodate additional vehicle volumes at the port’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.
In early 2025, JAXPORT expanded vehicle Berth 22 to accommodate larger vehicle vessels than it could previously serve. Now that the project is completed, Berth 22 can accommodate vehicle vessels approximately 750 feet LOA (length overall).
Also in 2025, JAXPORT began a separate project to build a new vehicle berth, Berth 21. The new berth will take 24 months to build and will be available for use in early 2027.
Enhancing the port’s vehicle berths increases efficiencies for auto customers and provides additional capacity to accommodate future growth, supporting JAXPORT’s role as one of the nation’s top vehicle-handling ports.
Both initiatives are funded 75 percent by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
