Emergency Preparedness

JAXPORT’s Public Safety Department maintains comprehensive emergency management plans for a wide range of events including hurricanes, floods, and hazardous material.

JAXPORT works closely with the City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division and the Florida Division of Emergency Management in order to respond effectively to potential disasters.

U.S. Coast Guard hurricane status forms for tenants

Any time a storm poses a threat to the area, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville requires all port tenants to complete the pre-storm (during condition Whiskey) and post-storm (during condition ZULU) facility assessments linked below.

To submit electronically, complete the form, save to your computer using the “save as” function, and then email it to these three email addresses: secjaxwaterways@uscg.mil; secjaxfacilities@uscg.mil; and incident.command@jaxport.com.

Storm readiness

Individuals can prepare by building their own 72-hour hurricane or disaster supply kit. These kits include food, water, and essential supplies ready to take with you and your family when a disaster occurs.

For additional information visit Ready.gov, a national public service advertising campaign designed to help individuals get informed, make a plan, and build a kit in the case of an emergency.
